Ok, I made it. Seven weeks, got to maintenance. No more dreams about portioning mini cups of old cheese cake! I'm afraid to go on my own just yet, I'm going to try a few weeks of counting calories on maintenance because it is a substanial amount : more calories to eat ,and then I am going to try it on my own in hopes that I know what portions I should be eating throughout the day. Thank you all for listening to me chat away for the past month and a half, and giving me good ideas and motivation. :flowerforyou: Never quite made it to my Christmas fitness goals but I was never seriously negligent either, I probobly would have done less if I didn't have to post!

Thanks!
Anne

You made maintenance - that's wonderful! I have probably a year to go. I'll get there though. I would be afraid of going without this site. Good luck to you!

How many kitties do you have Anne? That one looks like this one of mine. I have 5 that cycle through the pictures.

Congratulations reaching your goal!! It is an awesome feeling I know.

I reached my goal weight a little over 3 years ago. I still log and count my calories every day. This is the second time I have lost a lot of weight.

I learned the hard way if I want to keep the weight off I will have to watch what I eat closely, count my calories the best I can and watch the scales even closer. I know I will have to continue to do these things every day.

They are telling us now to weigh ourselves everyday and not to wait until a week (or two) has passed then find out oops I have gained. I have found this works best for me . It is easier to keep the weight off then it is to wait till I have gained then have to lose it again.

I also still weigh and measure my food. I can pretty much tell by looking at my food if it is too much or not but I don’t want any surprises when I step on the scales. Like I said before it is easier to keep it off then have to lose it again.

I am so very thankful for this site. I will continue to come here. This site helps me so much.

Remember this is a lifestyle change that you will need to continue to live to keep the weight off and not just a short term thing to lose weight and you will do great.

Again Congratulations and here is to keeping it off. :flowerforyou:

Congratulations! This is an amazing accomplishment! I completely agree with Loretta Jo, this is a lifestyle change and not just a one time thing. So, keep in mind how great it feels to reach this goal, and don't let yourself slide back to old habits. Maybe try setting small goals...not necessarily even weight related, to keep yourself busy. This may help! The best of luck to ya with maintenence and congrats on getting there. Keep us posted with your progress!!

    Congratulations, deanea!

We will certainly miss you, could you come back once a month and let us know how you are doing? That would be great! I've never tried to lose weight before, and I don't think I will be able to stop tracking - I think I will be a lifetimer.

Have a great holiday season. Have an eggnog for me. :drinker:
