So Im pretty new to this site but I know that lots of people find support and encouragement on here, and I am in desperate need for both right now. Im 18 yrs old and I weigh approximately 165 lbs. Ive always been involved in sports (soccer, tae kwon do, volleyball) and stick to a healthy diet. Last year I was able to lose 35lbs in 3 months after I found out that i was at 180lbs. Sadly, I gained about 20lbs after, and went back on a strict diet and excercise routine. I began doing the Insanity 60-day workout, and got through the first month and a half. I decided to start over, though, knowing that I wasnt seeing results because I had skipped so many days.

Now that Im back on Insanity and doing it regularly, I need to know if, by pushing myself through the programs and really taking care of my body, if I will be able to lose the lower belly and back fat that I have dealt with since I was young, even though I was constantly ivolved in sports, was able to lose those 35lbs, etc. It is really frustrating because I have almost come to believe that I, even though I am active and am capable of losing weight, I will never lose the fat.

It is hard for me to imagine myself with a flat stomach because Ive never had one, and I know that is the wrong mentality to have, but I just need some form of assurance that it is possible to do because Ive almost "lost all hope". I know that may sound dramatic but....Im just tired of being fat, okay! Lol

So my question is if it is possible to lose fat that Ive had clinging on me for so long?

Check out all the success stories you will soon see that it is indeed possible. So many people on here have gone from fat to fab and have lost weight that they have had for most of their lives. If they can do it so can you.

I would advise lifting heavy, in addition to any cardio you already do to maintain your lean muscle mass. I found that my back fat reduced considerably as I lost weight but the tummy area although smaller is not and probably never will be completely flat but then I am a lot older than you and I can live with a bit of flab in that area as long as I am slimmer overall.

Good luck to you I am sure you can reach your goals you just need to believe in yourself.

Yes. I have two crappy pictures in my profile you can see, i wasn't huge, but I was dumpy and roley poley for half of my 40 or so years on the planet. Honestly, I just didnt care, and when I started caring, it didn't matter because I was too lazy to change my lifestyle.

You have to stop thinking in terms of diets and programs, and think about the manner that you will live your life. Insanity and joe blow's diet of the month aren't things you can keep up for a long time. Trying to get fast results to undue years of bad habits is setting yourself up for failure. Make small steps and substitutions that you can keep up for a long time.
