5'6" ladies, need help with measurements

Ladies, I need your help.
I am 5'6" tall and my current weight is 139 pounds. I am trying to focus more on tracking inch loss than weight loss and am trying to set goals accordingly. Now, I know that I need to lose around 3-4 inches from my butt, but I have no idea of how many inches I should lose from my thighs.
So, all you ladies who are fit and are willing to help, could you give me an inch range I should be looking at just to get an estimate of how much I need to lose? And also, it would be super if you could tell me where you measure your thighs from (how many inches above the knees would you consider measuring thighs from?)
Thanks a ton!

Honestly, and I don't mean to sound pedantic, but there's --no way-- anyone can give you accurate numbers. Everyone's body shape is so totally different that what may be normal for me will be way too small/huge for you. Especially things like thigh measurements.
The way I measure my thighs is about an inch or two down from the *ahem* crotch area - around the widest part of your thighs. Main thing is to be consistent and always measure in the same place.
My thighs are huge and I'm guessing always will be, so I doubt I could give you numbers that would apply to your shape/physique. So just go with what feels right.
There are however good guidelines for bust/waist/hip ratios. Mainly waist-to-hip ratio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waist-hip_ratio
Just google and and you could find some good sources too.
Edit: fixed the wikipedia link (darn html encoding).0 -

My thighs are and will always be huge too. I'm okay with it and I agree with this as well.
I can't give you numbers to help. Your post caught my attention with 5'6 (i'm 5'6 1/2) but I can't help you as I'm 90 lbs or so more than you.
Hope you find what you're looking for.0 -
This is definitely a great start! Thanks for the Wikipedia link! Will check it out.
I'm not looking for accurate numbers. That's impossible. I just need an approximate range to work with.0 -
Measurements vary so much from person to person that even asking for a range is unlikely to help you. If you think your thighs are too big, then set a goal to shrink that measurement by an inch, then reevaluate from there. Or...say you want to fit into a certain size/style....measure the pant leg where the widest part of your thigh would hit (ie 2" below the crotch"), and set that as your goal.0
