So far in my journey...:)

This is actually the first time I take full body pics of myself as I'm progressing....:)
I started my weight loss journey in February after a rather brutal fight with depression caused by constant pain and being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
I realized that, even though I thought I was lovely as i was, lovely doesn't make one healthy or autonomous. It was either lose weight or stop functioning. I was a little over 200lbs when I started. I don't know by how much seeing as I stopped weighing myself when I saw the first digit was a 2. My waist was over 38" (again, stopped measuring when I was approaching 40").
I lost almost 20lbs and 24.25" since I started measuring again, around the 196lbs mark. I'm now at 181.6lbs.
These pics are from being tagged on FB. They date back to the summer of last year I believe. I was bigger than these when I started in Feb.
This is from mid March this year:
These are from last week:. Just for fun to explain the dress. My name is Shannon and my fav colors are aqua, pink and yellow. Was browsing around Beyond the Rack and came across this dress. It's item name was Shannon and it's aqua pink and yellow in a vibrant pattern...they couldn't have been channeling me more if I'd be there designing it with them!
And this is now about an hour ago (sorry about the crap quality, my apt has no light!):
I think I'm looking pretty good right now and I can't wait to keep seeing the changes as they go one. I'm finding muscles where I didn't know I could have some...and sometimes when I'm in the middle of exercising, I can see between my thighs! My butt and boobs are lifted and I can see collar bone. Also, and what makes me happiest, the double chin is disappearing...yay!
I'll keep updating this post as I go...:)

KF, I was at a not-so-small con in Lancaster, PA called Zenkaikon. I cosplayed a human version of Rarity from My Little Pony. It was super fun! I don't get to cosplay much.0 -

You look amazing. I started mfp after the birth of my daughter in november. I lost thirty pounds and then got lazy. At 195 and two months of not dieting I have decided that I must continue on my journey. It is so hard for me to stay focused. Do you exercise at all? If so what kind of exercises do you do? and how do you stay motivated?0

Katiealexander: this story basically is how I feel in a nutshell: http://www.shapefit.com/success/success-stories-weight-loss-melissa-p.html
Because of my fibro, I have to be very careful about how I work out my upper body. I'm a social person so group classes work great for me. I do aqua fit and aqua zumba, regular Zumba and cardio baladi. I also do some very careful weight training. I'm going to be adding the 30 day shred on non-gym days.
In terms of food. I ciukd my calories, I try not to eat too much processed stuff by cooking a lot on my own. I'm not a fan of light versions of food so I just eat less of those things.
The trick is just finding what works best for you...:)
Good luck!0 -
