Dear Ladies,

I am newly 65 and lost my husband this time last year. I'm also recently retired. The 3 months spent living in the hospital room with my husband, combined with continuing deep feelings of loss since then, have changed a very active & enjoyable life to a more disinterested, sedentary one, one that I know includes much too much sleep each day. I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you that there's been a pretty significant weight gain. Recently, when all my ceilings were repainted, I had to personally muscle all the house furniture out to the two porches. That seemed a stimulus to go through things & give much to the Good Will. Moving everything back in again, it feels as if I'm starting a new chapter. I'd like to seize the moment & shed those excess 30 lbs (from 165 to 135, where I should be for my height), The benefits will probably reach way beyond the physical.

Today is "0 -1" -that's because it's late, so the real effort will start tomorrow. Just wanted to say "hello" and that I'm so looking forward to meeting you ladies & sharing your own journeys toward your personal goals.

While ladies far outnumber the men here, there are some of us guys around. Are we allowed to cheer you on too?

Congrats for joining this great community - I hope you find all the support that you need (I'm sure you will, as it's FULL of wonderful members). This past year has been a new start for me, as well, for various reasons - here's wishing you a successful new start - I have no doubt it will happen with dedication and the right support.
