Drink suggestions needed

Hey all!
I'm going out tonight and I saved up some calories and I was wondering what low calorie alcoholic beverage options are available besides the low calorie beers.
Before I get the lecture allow me to preemptively say: I am aware that alcohol is nothing but empty calories, I am aware that it's not good for me, and I know it'll make me retain water and all that other horrible stuff. However this is a very rare, special occasion and I would like to participate. I also know that moderation is the key to making this a life style. I'm not planning on getting drunk, I'd just like a drink or two and still stay within my limit.
Thank you all for your concern and suggestions (also preemptive!)

Anything plus diet soda - Captain Morgan and Diet Coke, Southern Comfort and Diet Sprite are good choices. Tonic would seem safe, but it's full of calories - unless you can get diet tonic. My DH enjoys Gin and diet tonic and vodka and diet tonic.0

That is perfect! Thank you muchly!0 -
Bacardi and diet coke, sugar free red bull and vodka or maybe a light beer. Best bet is to be extra careful of what you eat during the day, exercise and then drink responsibley0

That's what I was going to say!0 -
I usually do lemon drops...as a shot, not the martini......its usually just straight vodka, lemon juice and a little sugar.....a couple of those and I'm good!0

Still drink water -- it'll help keep you as hydrated as possible while you're having the alcohol. So say, have one alcoholic drink followed by one full sized water. Doing that will also help the next morning if you over indulged a bit too much.0

My only question is: WHY aren't you getting drunk???
vodka, lime & soda is my low calorie drink. Otherwise I just forget the diet for a day and head for the pink wine spritzers!
I didnt know that alcolhol made you retain water, that's very interesting, as I do chuck on 4lbs after a weekend on the wine. But it comes off again, so dont particularly worry about it :drinker:
Sorry, just realised that its now the next day and you dont need my comments at all....... :blushing:
Hope you had a wonderful evening

Ah! Was just thinking, do you HAVE soda in America? I mean carbonated water with a little salt?? zero calories. It's called 'soda water' here. NOT cans of fizzy drink!!
You might call it by a different name?0 -
Thanks all! I ended up just having once diet cran grape with vodka, and it worked well!
Haha, Anna! I just don't like getting drunk, I prefer a healthy buzz
