Hi. I'm new to the site, I'm going to give it a good try out. I decided to join to help me be more accountable about everything. I've been trying to loose with just exercise and that didnt do much. I tried workout buddies but that didnt go so well. So now Im here if hopes of good things. I've never really dieted in my life nor have I ever counted calories. I've only been doing this for a week, and its seriously crazy hard for me. Its like I want to eat more and put food in my mouth all the time now, even when I'm not hungry and I dont know why.
So a little background. I used to have a job where I was on my feet 9-10 hours a day and at that time my weight wasnt really an issue and neither was food. Now I have a different job BUT I sit for 9-10 hours a day and the weight came on fast. I'm not happy with it.
To me this isnt about getting skinny, its about being happy and confident with myself. I have about 30 pounds to lose. I would really like to loose 2 dress sizes as well. I dont have a dream to be "high school" skinny. Just happy...

Welcome. This site has helped me a ton. I never dieted or counted calories before I joined either. Losing eight has more to do with diet than exercise. if you are not mindful then you "reward" yourself for exercise and ended up eating more calories than you burned. This site has helped me realize what foods are good, which are ok, and which should be avoided. I learned Subway really isn't a healthy lunch alternative, make room in your diet for some treats, and plan ahead. We out out a decent amount and I will log what I am going to order ahead of time and build my day around it. Using the logging for planning is a great way to help you stay on track.
I still am not eating that great but manage to stay under my calorie goal most days. I am about halfway to my goal weight and know I am going to have to be more disciplined about my diet to keep moving forward. Anyways, welcome and I hop this site helps you as it has helped me.0 -

Hi! I'm new here too!
Transitioning to a sedentary job/life-style, I've put on the weight and gotten out of shape. Then, after returning from a trip last week, I was shocked to discover I'd gained more weight!! :sick: I've never dieted in my life, so this site is very helpful for me to count calories.
