What is the best place in Central Philly to get a cheesesteak? Preferably within a mile or so of Rittenhouse Square.

I only really have one chance to go out and get a REAL Philly cheesesteak when I'm gonna be there and I want it to be MAGICAL.

It sounds like you will be walking...lots of places around.

Tony's Deli, Tony Jr's, Tommy DiNic's (featured on Man vs. Food)...

Lots of places. Too bad you are limited...there are so many others. There's always Pat's or Geno's (tourist areas) or the Cheesesteak Factory, or... the list is endless

Find your way to Broad St, or Market St...you won't be disappointed.

    *****’s, John’s Roast Pork, Steve’s, Sonny’s, Frusco’s, Dalessandro’s, Chubby’s… almost any place that’s not Pat’s or Geno’s.

Haha the forums censored Chlnk's, I guess MFP is going with Joe's which is the new name for Chlnk's Steaks.

Awesome! Thanks!! I was originally thinking Pat or Geno's because people kept talking about them, but from what I've seen on-line, they are super touristy and not worth eating... I want this to be WORTH IT.
