need ideas

on snacks that are low carb. i am having difficulty reaching my daily calories with low carb foods.

    I believe that u can compensate the calories in a low carb diet only by using more fats or proteins. I am eating a less than 50 gms of carbs a day, i fill my tummy with proteins n fats. So i never miss the carbs. Loads of chicken with yummy spices, fish, eggs with jalepenos and peanut butter as a snack is enuf for me... I fill up my carb cravings on big cheat meal per week..

    Try more veggies with hummus or guacamole dip or making smoothies with unsweetened milk, some veggies and/or fruit with a power add in like ground flaxseed, chia seeds, or protein powder. My favorite low carb snack is a homemade protein bar or superfood ball that is made of mainly nuts, seeds, cocoa powder, and dried fruit (soft medjool dates, or dried figs). Their super yummy and filling and so quick and easy to make! just blend it all in a food processor and roll into balls or form bars, refrigerate and done! One serving is roughly around 150-200 calories so its a great energy snack

    Some high calorie/low carb snacks for me are:

    Nuts/seeds
    String cheese
    Turkey pepperoni (plain, sprinkled with cheese and microwaved, or dried to pepperoni chips)
    Turkey bacon
    Spoonful of peanut butter (or almond, sunflower, etc)
    Greek yogurt (plain with stevia to reduce carbs)
