so every night before i go to bed its so hard for me to sleep. i feel my whole body tingling especially the back of my legs/ knee. i always have to stretch then or shake my legs out a whole bunch and that still isnt good enough.
this has been going on for almost a year
i havent drank in months so it cant be that, no caffeine in my diet, and i am not on any medications.
however i have taken muscle relaxers with aleve a few times to see if that would help....it helped but im not sure if it was psychological.
help!!!! this has been bugging me forever!
medical history:
being big my whole life
syatic never pain in the butt lol (it only happened for a few days and i was over with it and i am)
im concerned if this is a weight issue or health issue. hopefully someone has some type of response!!

Have you thought of seeing a chiropractor?
Random thought and probably not applicable to you but, a woman I used to know experienced it as a side effect from having had an epidural.0 -
Mom has problems with RLS but that's because she's anemic all the time.
Talk to your doctor about it if you can afford to. c:0 -
i probably will have to go. i was just seeing if anyone here has experienced the same thing0

I had that when i was 10 pounds lesser weight.I used to workout everyday at that time too.I don't think it has something to do with sitting or weight.I met the doctor but she said there wasn't any medical reason for it.
Then i met an ayurvedic doctor-who suggested that it was mostly due to blood circulation problems.I just cleaned up my diet and got in more C vitamin and Iron.I hardly have RLS now.0 -
I have muscle spasms in my legs sometimes when I sleep. I found that taking a calcium-magnesium supplement and multi vitamin helped, along with stretching and yoga and taking a rest day from intense cardio. It seems to happen more when I run more:)0

Depends how active you are. It runs in my family through my Dad's side and I inherited it. Before I got really active, my RLS would keep me up at night a lot. Getting active was the only thing that worked for me since I was unwilling to go on meds.
It acts up every now and then, but much lower now. I have also lost weight and it's helped.
If exercise doesn't help, I'd ask your Dr at your next visit. Good luck!
ETA: It isn't anything critical, just REALLY annoying (at least in my case). Also try a multivitamin, as they help me, too0 -
I have suffered with RLS for a few years now and most evenings my legs are twitching and jumping around. I have to stretch them out or get up and walk around for a while. I can't see any pattern for when I exercise or don't. I had heard that anaemia can be a cause but had my iron level checked and its fine. I have about 40lbs to loose so am waiting to see if that will change my RLS at all. I usually have a reasonable of vitamin c each day but have not heard about taking magnesium, maybe I need to try that too0

I would probably see a doctor. But, in the meantime, don't worry too much. Restless legs syndrome tend to afflict old people mostly, and it usually manifests quite dramatically, with legs that twitch visibly and jump around. It isn't a little tingling and cramping feeling.0

Might you have a pinched nerve? I have a nerve that pinches in my elbow of both arms and it causes a sort of numb/tingly feeling in my pinky, ring finger, and that side of my hands. It's not quite pins and needles, and it doesn't hurt, but it is unpleasant. And although the never can pinch throughout the day, I mostly feel the tingling at night.0

I used to have this every night, but now that I have been walking 4 times a week, it hasn't been a problem. I've also lost some weight, so maybe that has helped.0
