Two weeks ago I stopped taking my blood pressure pills and my blood pressure has been great. Lately it seems even a little low. Well, low normal according to the chart. 111 over 68. Was I just used to seeing much higher blood pressure or does this seem normal to anyone. I feel great.

That's awesome! However, I hope you stopped taking you medication based on the advice of your physician and not of your own accord. Keep up the good work!0

111/68 is fine.
I take blood pressure medication. My doctor says I have to take it for the rest of my life
Good for you if you're allowed to stop taking it. :flowerforyou:0 -
I would keep monitoring it closely. Its ony been 2 weeks, and the medicine is just getting cleansed out. Keep a journal (maybe 2-3 readings a day) for the next 2 weeks and if still low take the journal to the doc and discuss.
I can say this from experience that a conversation about Blood Pressure with a doctor and 2 weeks worth of readings (at different times of the day) could have the effect of no more meds0 -
That is a bit on lower end but not necessairly too low. Agagin as the other poster said... hopefully you stopped on the advice of your doctor.
When I was in high school and college... I used to pass out... no body knew why... I was normal weight.
I then gained wt..; and then lost a lot of it later.... By this time I was a nurse... and would check my bp when I would feel like I was going to pass out.... and found that I had abnormally low blood pressure. lik 70-80/40-50.
S0 the older I got and more wt I gained my blood pressure would be very normal. 120-130/70-80.
As I am losing now my blood pressure is about 100-110/70-80 So happy days......
Guess I am saying as long as you feel well don't worry. if you start feeling weak...see your doctor.0 -
Its alittle low but nothing to worry about. My mum has those kind of readings all the time and she's fine. Might be worth keeping an eye on it just incase as everyone is different of course.
Good Luck.0 -
It's fine. That 120/80 that a lot of people think is the golden number is the line that you don't want to cross. I by no means would ever consider 111/68 "low."
Also, remember that it's not one reading that defines high or low blood pressure - it's a general reading over time. So definitely keep up with your physician!0 -
Thanks for the advise. I monitor my blood pressure at least 3 times a day. I have a doctor appt. in about 3 weeks and will discuss what I'm doing.I would keep monitoring it closely. Its ony been 2 weeks, and the medicine is just getting cleansed out. Keep a journal (maybe 2-3 readings a day) for the next 2 weeks and if still low take the journal to the doc and discuss.

No. I was bad and did it on my own but I am monitoring my blood pressure at least 3 times a day. I'll talk to my doc about it in a few weeks when I see her. That's awesome! I'm keeping a close watch on my BP and I feel great. Congratulations on your weight loss progress. I've got 40 more lbs to go.That is a bit on lower end but not necessairly too low. Agagin as the other poster said... hopefully you stopped on the advice of your doctor.

Hi, I started taking BP med and my weight has creeped up now ten lbs since last Nov. Have you had any problem like that? I think I'll have to drop my calorie intake because I'm exercising daily 60 plus minutes, strength training and cardio. I'm frustrated!0
