TDEE

Hi all,

Have fallen off the MFP wagon recently and gained a few pounds. Prior to this I was stuck in spite of exercising at least 5 times a week and eating back my exercise calories. I really think MFP over estimates calories gained from exercise as I was really specific about intake so think this may be where I was going "wrong" I've decided to investigate TDEE and depending on what calculator you use my calorie intake is meant to be anywhere between 2450 and 2150. How do I work out what I need to be eating? I'd like to do this right and I'd like to lose a stone to get me nicely under my BMI (I'm 11.5 stone and 5'7" and my BMI is 26 at the mo)

Thanks in advance :)

Jules

This may be a bit overkill, information wise. When I was trying to find the same data for myself, a simple search of the forums here turned up this site:

    http://body-improvements.com/resources/eat/

Hope you find it useful! I've gotten a ton of good information there and still reference it now and then when a new question pops into my head. :)
  • Really good reading :) That calculation of pounds x 14-16 is great.... Thanks!! Will give it a try.
  • The best way to determine how many calories you've burned is by using a heart rate monitor. I bought one and it really helps.
  • Do you wear the heart rate monitor for 24 hours?
