overeat today but can i....

So, I eat more than my daily calories (1200) today. Can I workout tomorrow to burn the extra calories and only eat 1200 cal?
1200 is my daily calories goal without adding the extra calories burned during workout.

    You're not going to gain weight or lose weight based on a single day's caloric intake (unless you cleaned out an all-you-can-eat buffet all by yourself) it's an average over time. A little over today, a little under tomorrow.......it all works out over time.

    You could do that, or you could try spreading your calorie count over a week to balance out any variations.You need to eat 3,500 cals over your daily needs to gain 1lb, so you probabaly haven't done that much damage anyway, specially if you're exercising.

    I have the same issue i over do one and then the other...but it all pans out in the long run. just make sure ure not "over doing" the calories ona regula basis! are u able to keep to the 1200 cals a day?
