Hey guys, I was on a "healthy" site and stumbled upon this "skinny" chocolate chip muffins. I'm a sucker for anything chocolate, but I wanted to know if these really are "skinny" like they claim. Here's the recipe:
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 large egg whites
3/4 cup vanilla yogurt (or greek)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (plus a few extra for sprinkling on top of the muffins)
Preheat oven to 425F degrees. Spray a 12 count muffin tin with no stick spray (Do Not use liners!).
In a large bowl, mix applesauce, sugar, honey, egg, yogurt, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
Sift flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda and baking powder together.
Slowly stir in wet ingredients (Be careful not to over mix).
Fold in mini chocolate chips and fill muffin tins equally.
Sprinkle a few more chocolate chips on top of the batter in the tins.
Bake at 425 for 5 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375 and bake for 13 more minutes.
What is the caloric content per 1 mini muffin? Thanks! :]

I found the recipe on google, it doesn't say to make these as mini muffins, so I don't know how many servings that would be if you decided to make them mini instead of large like the original recipe.
I put it in MFP to make 12 servings (like the recipe calls for) and I got 180 cals per muffin. Do you know how to enter in recipes to get the calorie count on them? It isn't difficult!

On the website I found them on, it showed pictures and in the picture they were made with a mini muffin tin (12 muffins on one pan) and they were small mini muffins. I did not know about the recipe maker. Thanks.0
