Hello. I'm a very new member. I recently gained some weight very quickly on my small frame that I would like to get rid of. This weight is a result of a steriod prescribed to me by my doctor to help with poison that I had. A nasty medication it was:huh: , so many side effects, and gaining all this weight (about 20 pounds) was one of them. Now all I want to do is to GET IT OFF!

    You know the basics, right?
    1. Eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day.
    2. Drink lots of water--maybe the water will help flush any toxins (remaining from the poison and steroids) out of your system.
This is a good site. Hope you enjoy it here. :drinker: (water)

Been there, done that :) Those steroids are nasty stuff, but you can totally do this! MFP is a godsend and the tools make losing weight attainable. Good luck to you!

FYI, if you ever need to go on steroids in the future, stick to a gluten-free diet while taking them. This will help prevent the weight gain and puffiness, as well as a lot of the other side effects.

Welcome and best wishes to you! You can do it. Just log your food and exercise and be consistent and patient. It works!

Will do. I'm also going to find a new doctor...because my current doctor, i'm sorry to say, does not really care to help me. She's the type that likes to take your money but doesn't really care to make you better, or listen to you. She put me on an anxiet medicine without telling me the symptoms or even what the dosage was. Apparently it was a high alert medication where you are supposed to have an appointment with the doctor every 2 weeks for x amount of months to make sure everything is fine. Haven't seen the doctor regarding them yet and apparently they cause people to want to kill themselves. GREAT! Makes me question what kind of doctor I am.
