  • Yes, and I love them! However, make sure you get coached or trained on how to use them properly. I think without some help getting started, I would have probably injured myself. Form is insanely important...I cannot stress that enough.

I'm using them, but not as my only exercise (I also do cardio at the gym and I'm currently trying out different group exercise classes to figure out what I like). I think kettlebells are great! I've been working with them maybe 1 1/2-2 months now, and I'm already noticeably stronger.

my personal trainer when i attended the gym had me use a kettle bell. the first time he did the work out with me I was sore for a week, it was awesome. I nicknamed it the kettlehell.

You lose weight by incorporating a calorie deficit from maintenance level of calories. The most efficient way to do this is in your diet. If you are using MFP the way you're supposed to, your calorie goal includes a deficit for weight loss. You don't have to do jack **** except eat to your calorie goal and you will lose weight. I say this not to discourage you from exercising...but to encourage you to exercise for fitness and find something you enjoy and don't worry about the "burn"...the "burn" is built into your diet. Also, MFP is NEAT method calculator which means you're actually supposed to eat most of your exercise calories back to avoid too large a calorie deficit.

Use your diet for weight control; exercise for fitness.

I dislike one true wayism. I'm using MFP for the discussion forums. Not the way I'm "supposed to" use the site? Oh, no, whatever shall I do! I would not have lost this much weight without exercise. Exercise is absolutely helping me lose weight. I understand and agree that one can lose weight with diet alone, but *I choose not to do it that way*. How about you do your thing and I do mine.
