weight before and after exercise

I was curious as to why you actually lose weight from before a workout to after. I know that I've dropped before, but this morning it was a full lb......and all I did was a walk outside for 45 minutes? Seemed like a lot to me. Anyone else have this happen?????

As you exercise, even at lower intensities like walking, you perspire - the perspiration evaporates and, if you don't replenish your fluid levels, you will experience a temporary drop in weight.
Weighing yourself before and after exercise has been a longstanding method for endurance athletes to ensure they're adequately re-hydrating while working out. If memory serves me correctly the old rule of thumb was that you didn't want to lose more than about 2% of your body weight otherwise you were at risk of becoming dehydrated.0 -
Interesting.....I knew I always had a difference, but do not think I ever saw a pound, even when I was exercising harder.0

yeah, its all just sweat weight. I can run for an hour and weigh 3 or 4 lbs less than I did at the start. I know its not actual fat loss, but its still feels kind of rewarding. And I love instant results!0

You're also exhaling moisture.... one of the reasons you lose weight overnight.
I think I "lost" 5 or 6 pounds during my first half-marathon. (my body weight was around 200 at the time)
I sweat like a freaking monster, though.0 -
I lose weight after cardio and gain it after lifting. I find it better to just stay away from the bloody scale or my OCD comes out full force.0

do people seriously do this?
Weight yourself before and after you drink a glass of water. Be careful though, such a dramatic increase in body weight might ruin whole whole day...
p.s. you sweat when you work out. sweat is water. water has weight.0
