Well, started off great - 3 lbs first week. Gained 2 lbs back second week. I know it was from too much deserts (wife baked cookies for me for father's day - just had to finish them) and beef jerkey (which I love!) and had to stop working out as I injured one of my legs running (should oif stretched more!). Just need to refocus and get my confidence back. I was laid off from a job (out of the blue) and went into depression and gained 30 lbs in 3 months. Started working again and feeling better. i know it will take me more than 3 months to lose the 30 I gained which SUCKS. But I will keep exercising and try to eat better.

So I hope to hear from others who have been able to overcome setbacks.

We all have setbacks - I managed to knock back 5 pints of beer at The Killers gig on Saturday night, But hey, that was Saturday, today is Monday. It'ss all behind us now.

You have to live a little otherwise you'll quit!

Don't beat yourself up about it and look forward to all the delicious healthy stuff we're going to eat this week !

This process is often 2 steps forward, then a step or more back.

I was down to 145.5 after Christmas, so proud of myself for being disciplined through the holidays. Then I revolted, was sick of logging every bite and controlling everything. I gained 7 lbs. back in 4 months. Back on the wagon, lost 4 lbs.

Had a weekend "off the wagon" and the scale is showing a gain of 3 lbs. Some of it is "woman related" but a lot is due to the high sodium intake and some alcohol. I suspect some of yours is sodium related too...jerky is lean but loaded with salt.

I've been doing this long enough now, I just shrug, jump off the scale, log it (for personal accountability) and get back to the program. I advise my friends to do the same.

I started my weight loss journey in April 2011. By January, 2013, I had lost about 115 pounds. It was time to get rid of the excess skin where my belly was, so I went to a surgeon and had that done March 29. He took off 26 pounds of mostly fat, and some skin, from my belly.

Little did I know that fat has hormones, and that slung me into depression, and the recovery went MUCH slower than I would have liked. Also, with the hormone issue, I ended up calling my reproductive surgeon, and they ran tests on those hormones, and they were VERY low. SO, got fixed up in that realm too.

We did plan a trip to Disney for earlier this month - we went, and it was awesome - I was able to walk around and fit on the rides and stuff. Not that I was setting any speed records, but I was doing it.

During the "recovery part" though - they told me the last thing I needed to be doing was trying to lose weight while I was recovering. SO I took that as cart blanch (since I had had literally no appetite, and was having trouble eating ANYTHING) to eat EVERYTHING (unfortunately).

Today, I'm going to Weight Watchers to weigh in. I haven't weighed in since May 9. I have a feeling it isn't going to be pretty. I'm expecting it to be about a 20 pound gain over the course of the last 3 months. I'll update the numbers around noon - so for now it shows 146 pounds lost....you'll be able to "see the damage" this afternoon.

BUT I'm back on track. I did NOT stop at McDonald's this morning for their "nearly" 2-for-1 Egg, Bacon and Cheese biscuits....I did not get a Dr. Pepper. I had my Key-Lime greek yogurt and some water. I have my protein bar out and ready for my 10:00 snack. I'll weigh in, then call in my order for Garlic Chicken at the chinese place, pick it up and bring it back to work....and ditch 3/4 of the steamed rice, and some of the veggies that I don't care for (the little corn-cobs and squash, particularly). That's my typical Monday until lunch anyway.

Sorry to hear about the leg and the job - yes, gaining the weight SUCKED....ROYALLY. BUT we can take it off. We will get there!
