I just started reading Beck's book on this I can't remember the name exactally off the top of my head, something about learning to eat like a skinny person. The first thing they have you do is make a list of why you're doing this. You have to look at it every day at least once I day. I thought I'd share as this is something that's not a bad idea for everyone to keep motivated and continue on their way. It even says to have a copy with you at all times.
Some of my reasons are:
for my health (high blood pressure and bad knees)
Confidence
so I can feel good when I buy clothes
so I'm not always trying to hide from cameras
and so I can feel better about being intamate
theses are just a few of many I thought I'd have to help others really think about why they're doing this!
