Recovering from EDNOS @ 21

Hi everyone. I need supportive friends who will keep me on track (:

I've suffered from EDNOS since I was about 12-13. I would binge, purge, and restrict on alternating times.

I recently lost 12 lbs really fast and got major health problems because of it.

I've gained most of it back, and I've decided enough is enough. I need to recover, and focus on being healthy.

I'd love to have friends (preferrably close in age) who will support me on my journey to recovery :D I'm upping my cals to a normal limit. I was at 200 or less every day as of last month...so it's time to kick that away and do it the right way.

Add me if you wanna support me <3 I'm an active MFP friend and I'd love to support you back!

Hey! I'm a bit older but I also started recovery from EDNOS around your age. I was about 22 when I realized I had a real problem. I binged and purged, restricted, and also binged with exercise. I abused caffeine enough that I gave myself a minor heart murmur and my kidneys stopped working. I was suffering from anxiety and mild depression as well. Once the health problems kicked in I realized that I needed to get some real help, so I started therapy. Four years later and I am feeling WAY better mentally and physically.

I'm not on here all the time because I'm in my 3rd year of grad school, but I am happy to offer support. :)
  • Feel free to add me. I am 25 and have been recovering from EDNOS for a year now.

You won't be hearing, "I'm so fat! Ugh!"...or "I want to see bones"...or "I want to slice my wrists after I ate a slice of pizza." from me.

    All positivity! :)

    Yep! Same here.

I used to have 'fat days'. I forgot about those for probably a year until I heard someone say something about it on a documentary. I got the strangest flashbacks of those feelings/thoughts and they are so foreign now.

I'm also in recovery from EDNOS. I suffered for about 8 years with it, went from 230-117 in a little under 2 years (about 75lb of it in a 4 mo period), and maintained/tried to lose more. I started trying to recover when I met my fiancee and gained some weight back by eating properly, and moderately exercising, and I started to feel really good. Then I got pregnant with my son, and gained NINETY pounds due to depression/bed rest due to high risk pregnancy. That was a huge mind f$%* for me, as I felt like I had "worked" so hard to get rid of the weight, and here I was with it all back on me. However, I have found the journey I'm on now towards healthy, sustainable weight loss has done more for my recovery and self respect than I ever could have imagined. Knowing you're doing it the right way, the way your body wants/needs to, is super rewarding. I'm also a bit older, but definitely feel free to add me. My diary is open, and I'm on here every single day, multiple times a day! :)
  • I'm loving all of the support <3 I will be adding all of you! I can't thank you enough for coming to my topic and showing love and support <333

    Lets stay strong together!!!

  • Hey everyone :)

I am 21 and recovering from EDNOS which started when I was 16. I had anorexic tendencies for the first 3 years which later developed into a cycle of restricting followed by bingeing and purging. A little over a year ago I decided to get help. I began seeing a therapist and was diagnosed with moderate depression and anxiety. Now thanks to medication, therapy, and lots of hard work I am doing much better, but I still struggle every day with thoughts about going back to my old ways. To anyone who has been through something similar, feel free to add me! I would love to have some support from people who understand what an ED is like and would be glad to share helpful info I have learned along the way! Much love to all <3

 Sorry you are going through this. I know ED stands for Eating Disorder. Not too sure about what NOS means.

However my calories were chronically low before MFP and I have been upping them every week or two. I am currently enjoying 1700 and progressing toward my goals. Feel free to add me & know theres a whole community here to help you. GL.

I'm also 21 and recovering from EDNOS! I'd love to add you all, but I'm trying to eat "fear foods" (pizza, ice cream, etc.) without bingeing, so if me celebrating that I just ate a croissant would be triggering for you then let me know and I won't add you, no hard feelings :)
