Hey MFP people,
I am Danni, and have been using MFP for 6months now.
I use it to monitor my macronutrient, micronutrient and overall calorie intake, in an effort to get the best out of my body and to stop me from eating as much food as a bodybuilder (I have an ENOURMOUS appetite).
I have always exercised 6 times a week, doing endurance running, and resistance training, however I am EXTREMELY bad with food. My intense exercise regime leaves me quite energy starved, and therefore have a propensity to overeat (plus I just really like food). Hence leaving me with excellent fitness but still having a high body fat %. I have listened to multiple trainers, and they are determined to starve me of carbohydrates for the rest of my life…NO THANKS!
I look forward to meeting everyone, and sharing stories of nutrition and exercise.

Fire your trainers, anyone telling you to cut carbs low doesn't have any idea what they're talking about. Most important thing with your diet is to hit your protein and fat minimums everyday. Protein minimum = .82g/lb of body weight. Fat minimum = .4g/lb of body weight. I'm about 185 lbs, so my protein minimum is 150g per day, and my fat minimum is 74g per day. I hit my minimums everyday, and my protein and fat calories add up to 1266 calories. I eat 2100 calories a day so the rest of my calories come from delicious carbs. Step 1: Fire nutritional advisors. Step 2: Calculate protein and fat minimums. Step 3: Fiddle with macros on MFP to match calculated minimums. Step 4: Eat whatever you want that fits into your calories and macros for the day. Step 5: Be happy and enjoy your life.0

Already done the firing part:laugh:
I decided to do it on my own for six months (since I joined MFP), and lost more weight than I have ever!
It's a challenge when you do endurance sports because glycogen depletion in your liver and skeletal muscle really hits you. Therefore cutting carbs stops replenishment…hence stops sports performance…hence makes me edgy.
However it's a delicate balance trying to lose weight but be your best in your training regime.
Thanks for the advice…proteins and fats are most definitely the way to go. :happy:0 -

I agree!! When someone tries to tell me to cut carbs or fats (healthy fats) that's when I get angry. You need your protein for sure, carbs and being a woman if I'd cut my fats then I wouldn't menstruate properly or lose weight either and its hard on the intestines. You need a balance and being a person at your level of fitness there is no room to mess around you need the balance of healthy food bottom line. Good luck to you0
