I know there are other music threads out there where single songs are discussed, but what about sharing our playlists? A single song may motivate you, but you need more than three minutes of musical inspiration to keep the energy going.

I've got a couple different playlists, depending on what exercise I'm doing. When I'm on the elliptical, I like very upbeat stuff a la Britney Spears and the "Dreamgirls" soundtrack. When I'm running, I need more angry, heavy music.

Below, I'm sharing my running playlist.

I 2 I - A Goofy Movie Soundtrack
Stand Out - A Goofy Movie Soundtrack
Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
Not Falling - Mudvayne (GOOOOD song!)
Eye of the Tiger - Survivor (I think this is a requirement)
For Your Entertainment - Adam Lambert
I Was a Teenage Anarchist - Against Me!
The Fixer - Pearl Jam
Don't Trust Me - 3OH3! (Fun song to sing along to)
Uprising - Muse
Beat It - Michael Jackson
Baby I'm a Star - Prince
Savior - Rise Against
Brick by Boring Brick - Paramore
Scotty Doesn't Know - Lustra (One of my most favorite songs EVER)
Bleed American - Jimmy Eat World
Too Late - Nickelback
Back In Time - Huey Lewis & the Blues
Down With the Sickness - Disturbed
Dragula - Rob Zombie (LOVE the way this song gets me all riled up)
Superhero Girl - Eve 6
Awake - Godsmack
Alive - P.O.D.
Youth of the Nation - P.O.D.
Faith - Limp Bizkit (mmmmm, faith)

I'd love to see what other MFP'ers have on their playlists. Share with your friends! :)

Most of my songs have "naughty" words :blushing:
But a few of my favorites are:
"Whoo Hoo" - Christina Aguelara (intro is slow, song is awesome after that)
    "Hey" -3Oh3
    "Imma Be" &
"Rock that Body" - Black Eyed Peas
    "Tipsy" - can't remember artist
"Crazy on the Dance Floor" - David Gueth...somthing or other.
    "Drill it" - Blue October

Just got the new Mundane album.. it's pretty good but a more slower song than I thought.

I depends for me too on the exercise I'm doing. Running-wise, it's almost always upbeat music, plus classic rock stuff (with a little Glee thrown in haha). Actually I lied. It's random and whatever I feel like listening to :-)

Edge of Seventeen - Stevie NIcks
If I Had You - Adam Lambert
    Take On Me - A-Ha
    Telephone - Lady Gaga
Faded - Soul Decision (who else remembers this song?!)
    Lose Yourself - Eminem
Hey Soul Sister - Train (for stretching)
    Madonna episode songs from Glee
More Than a Feeling - Boston
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas
Ants Marching - Dave Matthews Band
September - Earth, Wind, and Fire

    like I said.....random :-)

For walking, I like A Perfect Circle, No Doubt, Depeche Mode, Tool

For running or the elliptical, I need a little more energy/anger music: Deftones, Kittie, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, Fear Factory, Tech N9ne, and oddly enough the Rainbow Six video-game soundtrack really gets me going.

For me, it's really all about the beat. And I also have found that once I get used to hearing something when I work out, if I hear the same songs when I'm not working out, it really makes me want to go work out! Haha.

hopfroggyfrog, totally know what you mean about hearing songs and associate it with working out. I had Beyonce's "Single Ladies" on my elliptical list, and whenever I heard it on the radio, my mind was instantly transported to the gym where I'm trying my best to mimic the choreography while pedaling away. LOL

Depends on what I'm doing. Most of my music is hard rock/christian rock.
During stretching-Usually something lighter, music from Top Gun is great.
    Cardio-techno, something moving.
Weights-Anything hard, fast, and heavy. Day of Fire has some great stuff, Demon Hunter, Red.
Outdoor weights (yoke walk, farmers carry, tire flips, atlas stones) I usually put something like cardio music, techno and such, gets the blood pumping and gets me moving.
All in all, it really depends on what I'm doing, how I feel. Different days, different things. I may pull a day and go strictly classical for all my workouts, just depends.

I'm loving that Top Gun and classical music are mentioned in the same post. LOL I'm going to look into Day of Fire!

Oh, and for you folks who like happy beat music, you should look into the UPular Remix by Pogo. It's such a cool compilation of sounds from Pixar's "UP".

I have wonderful memories with that song. My friends and I at school, whenever we have an issue or one of us is kind of feeling down in the dumps, we "dance it out" (similar to Grey's Anatomy) and we ALWAYS put on Faded. LOVE IT haha
