Protein making me nauseous

On and off for a few months, I have noticed that my high-protein breakfast is making me feel sickly. I pretty regularly make egg white omelettes with sausage or ham for breakfast and if I eat that alone, will begin to feel nauseated within 2 hours of eating it. I have also experienced this on days I try to cut back on carbs and pack in lots of protein.

I can't think of an explanation for this so hoping someone else has experienced the same..

maybe try "non-nitrate, non-nitrite" proteins......egg, fresh meat (not cured like ham, bacon), nuts, yoghurts?

If you still feel nauseous then at least you have cut out that possibility....hope it works!

I used to get sick to my stomach with protein shakes as well. Is this your first time eating high protein breakfast? Body may take some time to adjust.

    Maybe it's the egg whites.

Gross. I need the yolks too or it just isn't good.
