protein vs fat

Im having a hard time getting enough protein in a day without exceeding my alloted fat intake. My goal is 120gm carbs, 120 gms protein and 27gms fat. I hardley ever get in my carbs or protein and always exceed my fat intake but am ablt to stay within my calorie limit of 1200 cal. Any suggestions for this?

Your fat goal is DEFINITELY too low. Low fat diets can be dangerous and are advised against. If you are on a prolonged low fat diet, it will mess with your hormones badly and women can even lose their period due to this. To maintain hormone balance, eat at least .4g/lb of body weight of fat every day. It's hard to tell without knowing your weight, but I'm pretty sure your protein higher than you need. You might be better off keeping protein at around 100g, and upping your fats to the minimum I listed.

Whey also has fat in it, and carbs. If you're trying to eat that much protein (I'm assuming you're lifting), then dropping your carbs might be a better solution than going to what is effectively a 0 fat diet. Probably the only way to hit a fat target like that is to eat 8 cans of tuna a day as your protein source.

Damn! You need to get some more fat. Many healthy sources that include protein a well. Eggs, nuts, fish, Greek yogurt, avocados, etc.

Is there a health reason that you’re on such a high protein diet? If not, I would only have between 4 to 7 ounces of red meat, fish, chicken, lamb, etc. That’s all that most of us need.
