I feel like I am eating all day!

Just started doing TDEE-20% and I feel like I do nothing but eat! I weigh about 286 at 5'8 and exercise 4-5 days a week so that comes out to around 2500 calories. Or am I wrong? I feel full all the time...Ideas for healthy meals that could help me limit my amount of eating with more calorie dense foods?

Full fat dairy
Less-lean cuts of meat
Nuts
Nut butters
Avocados
Ice cream0 -
Could you open your diary so we can see what you're eating.0

What about any of the things you used to eat before? You must have liked them to eat them. Use those, just in properly measured portions. Then you eat foods you like while losing weight, it's win-win.0

I really don't want to fill my body full of fast food even though places like McDonalds shouldn't even be considered food0 -
At the end of the at you're still using a calculator. Your body doesn't care what the calculator says. If you feel full then listen to your body. If you were actually depriving yourself you would feel hungry.0

Thing is I can feel full with just 1200 calories a day....sometimes less. Just depends on what I eat0 -

I understand your frustration. I feel full many times before I reach my calorie needs. I still focus on healthy calories and not calorie dense food because my goal is to maintain my low blood pressure, healthy cholesterol levels, weight, and so on. I do eat almonds and healthy fats like that but I don't recommend consuming full fat dairy or fattier meats in order to bump up calories unless your goal is to gain weight.
I would focus on eating small meals throughout the day. If you feel full, stop eating. I stay under a certain amount of calories but I don't force myself to keep eating if I am not hungry. That doesn't make sense to me. There may be research out there or someone that says otherwise but I personally do not force myself to eat.
I also do not add back the calories I burned when working out. I did this at first and actually gained weight. I was very careful in my logging and tracking but still gained. Now I work out and also eat under my calorie goal. I don't ever add back the calories. This has helped the weight come off and stay off.
I may be in the minority here This is just what works for me!0 -
You are in excess of 100 pounds which means you are a morbidity obese or a class 3 obese individual, the highest the BMI chart goes for someone like you. Have you been to the doctor yet? Have you done a blood glucose test or A1C test? These test are extremely important in deciding what you should be eating, especially your carb intake. You are eating 300 grams of carbs a day. That is an extreme amount for someone in your condition. You could be damaging your insides and not even know it. You should get tested now.0

Thanks for telling me something I already know about my weight. I work in the medical field. I have no medical conditions. My most recent fasting glucose (last week) was 85. All my chemisty tests are clear. I only have a small excess of RBC's and iron. But thanks for the concern0 -

I think you're doing fine from what I've seen in your diary. I put light exercise with a 20% cut from TDEE and it gave me 2400ish calories. If you can't eat exactly that, don't worry about it too much. You can sustain larger deficits at this point. Also keep in mind that it's all estimation and a bit of trial and error...calories aren't an exact thing which is why it's irritating when people get bent out of shape over a 100 calories here or there. When I did my TDEE, with a bit of trial and error I determined that my activity level was somewhere between light and moderate...I actually discovered this while on maintenance because I continued to lose weight with my TDEE set at light activity and gained a bit steadily with it set at moderate activity. Found my happy medium.0

Thank you, I think I am going to move down to light exercise and go around 2400 calories. Also going to try to work towards more protein rich foods and less carbs.0 -

I should also mention that my cholesterol (LDL, HDL and ratio) are all great and I do not have high BP.0 -

Yes, but I don't feel good when I eat it. Tired, sluggish. Fortunately, I inherited good genes. I can eat basically what I want and my levels do not change....but I put on weight. I also likely have PCOS which I don't consider a "condition" but it is exacerbated by chemically laden foods and I am hoping to move into a more organic, meditteranean diet once my income levels out.0 -
Make an appointment with a nutritionist and your doctor. You're eating when you're not hungry and you probably don't need to. Based on your weight loss goals, you can probably lower your calories to TDEE-30% or more without any problems.0

I have not been checked for insulin resistance in a while. My blood sugar levels always stay normal and go back to normal in a short time after eating. I do fare better and have lost a lot of weight on a low carb low sugar diet before. It's just not stuff I have available right now but I will probably be pushing towards that way but still eating some fruit, just more so in the morning/afternoon.0
