Need help on my new diet

Hello everyone, I've recently started a new diet and I'm planning on eating around 1500-1800 calories a day. I want to lose 1-2 pounds a week doing so and I need some advice. Like am I eating to much or to little? I'm 14 I'm 5'7 I weigh 195(yes I know I'm huge) and my BMI is 2444 calories a day, during this diet I'm going to be losing about 300 calories on a 30 minute workout 5 days a week. I just need to know what and how much I would need to eat so I don't go into " starvation mode " and end up gaining all the weight back. Also do I need to increase the size of activity? My goal is about 20-25 pounds.

    I am a little confused by your post. Why don't you try tracking what you would normally eat (if you aren't gaining weight currently) and subtracting 20%, ie if you are usually eating 2200 calories try eating 1760 and eating half your exercise calories back.

    What number does MFP give you for 1.5lbs a week?

    Since you are 14, your body still develops. Are either of your parents taller than you? You will reach that height and more in the next 4-5 years. It is more important that you learn to eat healthier. Stop drinking energy, sports, soda, or similar drinks. Increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables, cut down on creamy sauce, eat more salad, cut down on chips and cookies and sweets. When you go out to restaurants, look the nutritional value of meals ahead. You will be surprised by the calories of many dishes. But most important, if you make small changes in your daily life like taking the stairs instead of the escalator/elevator, walk everywhere as much as you can, etc, spend less time watching TV and playing video games, you will be fit for the rest of your life.

    I would try eating around 1650 -1750 calories a day and give it a month and see what happens. I would imagine you would lose 4- 6lbs or so. You will most probably lose a little more than this in the first month as everyone tends to lose a little more in the first week. 1700 is a reasonable amount of calories.

    Slow and steady win the race. Some exercise is good :) Not too much 30 minutes 3 -5 days a week should be plenty

    You're 14. Your nutritional needs are different than that of a developed adult. You should seek the advice of a registered dietician who specials in juveniles.

    As your only 14 you really need to consult a Doctor or Dietician before you start a diet (also talk to your parents). Most diet plands are designed for fully grown Adults so are not suitable for someone who is still growing. You need a more personal taliored plan
