Fasting Question ugg I know (different than usual)

So I was wondering, over the last few weeks I have just been eating whatever I want and now honestly I look a bit flabby, though before that I did have far too much bulk and I think this is part of the reason. I looked it up and some of the fittest people in the world fast after they have something like this, my fast would only be for 32 hours and they say it helps them cut down on the size of the muscle and the fat. Though one thing they did not mention is what kind of food to break that fast with so they don't gain weight and after I break my fast should I do some HIIT so it does not store the meal in the fat reserves. (also if the 32 hour fast is too long please tell me so I can shorten it) thanks in advance and no I don't have a eating disorder well I do but this has got nothing to do with it I want to try this then start a 30 day pure and lean challenge to lose fat and build muscle so I will be eating loads!!)

If it's your first fast I would shorten it to 24 hours. You can do it like 6pm Wednesday to 6pm Thursday so you still get to eat on both days. I wouldnt recommend exercising while fasting or right after fasting if you're new to it. It doesn't matter that much what you break with, but you should make it something light so you don't get a stomach ache. When I first started fasting I would feel sick if I ate too quickly or something too heavy right after. I do a daily 20 hour fast and now my body is totally adjusted to it.

Wait, just read the eating disorder bit. Fasting is not recommended for people with a history of eating disorders.

There are numerous scientific studies done in recent years which show that fasting is counter-productive for women as opposed to men. If you're going to do anything this drastic read up on protein-sparing-modified-fasts. In any case fasting for that short a period is unlikely to do much whether positive or negative.

For someone in recovery from an ED, fasting is not the greatest idea
