Clothing NSVs

I've had a few clothing-related NSVs over the last few months and thought they were worth sharing.

When I started on MFP, I didn't feel comfortable wearing shirts smaller than XXL. My jeans were 38 waist and "relaxed fit" - and I had to do a few "squats" after they came out of the wash to stretch them out so I would feel comfortable with things in the pockets. The last two suite I bought were "executive" cut (Men's Warehouse's euphemism for XXL I guess).

Now, I can buy L shirts without trying them on and know they'll fit. I just got a pair of 34" waist, regular cut jeans and they fit perfectly. I had to give away my "executive cut" suits, and have some suits that I bought about 1/2 way through my weight loss taken in.

My favorite one, however, is that I had a pair of boxer shorts that wouldn't fit me when I was at my peak weight. I accidentally packed them for a trip last month, and they fit. I thought "Great, I can wear large Boxers." Then I looked at the label and saw the letter M!

What are some of your clothing-related NSVs?

    Good job!

    Mine?
That I can wear button front shirts and not worry about the gaps between the buttons.

That I can wear different styles of jeans beyond just boot cut.

Almost none of my clothes fit, the "best" bit is that my pants and skirts have gotten longer with the weight loss. This morning I realized the shirt I was wearing was loose on me and I couldn't see any of my fat rolls like I could when it was too tight. First time I actually looked at myself and saw that I *am* thinner, if not there yet.

I used to wear XXL shirts and size 18 pants.

There was a great sale yesterday and the shirt that I wanted only came in a medium. I bought it because I figured I would it in it someday.

I tried it on when I got home and it fit!!

I also wear a size 14 pants now, too!

*All* of my clothes and underwear mysteriously grew in the wash. As of today, I'm on my second set of new bras in four months. The Good Will bags that are waiting to go out contain my former skinny jeans, and they're now two sizes too large. Now, if only I could score on a couple of scratch off tickets or something, all this new clothing wouldn't hurt so much! Thank goodness for resale shops.

Doesn't that feel good? You are 6 pounds ahead of me. Otherwise it's the same exact story. I was at 38's and did a few breathing exercises just to get them to close. Now I too am in 34's. 32's are getting close, I think.

    Good luck to you

My biggest NSV? More room in the shower and can lace my boots in comfort. (Not at the same time)

Last summer I wore size XL for shirts and dresses, last Tuesday I bought 2 dresses that were size XS!! I couldn't believe it! I was picking out medium dresses and couldn't understand how none fit properly till the girl started bringing over small and eventually xtra small!!

For work uniforms I was size 12 for dress pants when I start (a very tight 12! more like a 14), when I demoted myself (April 1st) I was down to a loose size 10. If I pulled those out today I guarantee they wouldn't stay up for a whole shift lol. For shirts I was in XL manager shirts, then L, now in M for crew shirts (different position but same company that makes them), and the M is actually getting too baggy for me :)

Underwear... I need to get a whole new underwear drawer I swear! haha.....

Also a clothing NSV for me was when I realized I could fit into the cute shirts with the cartoons or sayings on them :) Never fit properly in them before and the image would always get stretched :) Now I want all the cute form fitting t-shirts! No more buying loose shirts to hide the tummy! :)

I don't care if I'm 26! If I want to wear a "If you're a zombie and you know it bite your friend" shirt with zombie bunnies, screw age I'm wearing it! :P

This is a great thread- Though it is very, very early on for me, I have noticed several clothing related NSVs:

    - When I started to improve my eating and exercise choice 3 weeks ago, my size 18 slacks were too tight, now some of them are fitting again!

    - The feet had started swelling, making my heels uncomfortable. With increasing my water intake, I am more hydrated, my ankles are looking better and my shoes are comfy again!!!

I can't wait to see other progress as I continue this journey.

I just made a thread about this, oops! I put money into my chest pocket today (I never wear one), and it felt like a flat pec for the first time instead of a man boob. It took me by surprise!

As I'm switching from my fall/winter wardrobe to my spring/summer clothes, I'm bundling up all the winter clothes and donating them to Goodwill. Some of them are already too large for me, and the rest of them will definitely be too big by the time the weather cools off again. I look forward to buying some new, smaller clothes in 4-5 months!

If I'm wearing a skirt I notice that my undies are drooping to the point they feel like they'll slip off! I don't notice it as much when I'm wearing pants since they have nowhere to go, but definitely an issue when I'm in a dress!

My undies are too big - and I feel like my pants are falling off

Also - I can wear button down shirts again without buying sizes too big..before the buttons would stretch and you could see everything underneath.

My favorite NSV was when I put my favorite sweater on and I could literally wrap it around my body! That felt great!
