Little twist that WORKS!

I'm basically at my goal (considering a new one though) and here's the 'trick' that's worked for me to go from 206 to 180 in a couple months:
-> My suggested calorie intake was about 1500.
-> I forced MFP to only give me 1200.
-> Fresh fruits and veggies are 'free'. No need to log or count them at all.
That last point is the key because it allows you leeway if you're struck with a craving or just don't feel like logging in and tracking something. I suppose that it's possible to take it to extremes and still gain weight, but for me it was perfect. Maybe this will help someone else.

Weight watchers does that too, with the free fruits and vegetables (although not all vegetables are free).0

BUMP!
That actually sounds awesome, I'll try that0 -
That sounds like a great idea!0

Yep, Weight Watchers works the same way. They give you fewer points than you should be eating and make fruits and veggies zero points to encourage dieters to make good choices. My first go-round with WW, I could have a cookie for 2 points or an apple for 2 points. Any sugar addict would choose the cookie - completely unfulling and unhealthy. Now having a cookie is a much bigger deal than having a banana for free, so people are much more likely to make good choices. Or that's the theory, at least.0

1200 gross or net?0

Last time I dieted I aimed for only 1200 a day and didn't count fruits and vegetables either. The weight dropped off. Here's hoping it works again!0

That's pretty much the same as eating 15-1600 cals0
