Hi Chris, biggest help I found was to record everything you eat, it really gives you a concept of what the problem is. If your "myfitnesspal" isn't around write it down to record later. This web site is great for that, but I did long before I found the site. Knowing what your taking in then tweaking your diet to drop calories will send you in the right direction. By the way, finding 30 minutes every other day to do some exercise (even if it's just work around the house you've been meaning to get done anyway... as long as there's exertion) will do a world of good to your heart, soul, and middle line.
  • I agree with Plain Joe. I started using this program, and developed my own eating plan because by now I know what is good. I also made sure I did some sort of aerobic 5 times a week and some wt training 2 times a week. I was down to 162 pounds...felt great, But I got lazy, the last month....back to white bread, french fries, beer, and boom- 10 pound weight gain.

So here I am back doing what I know works.....

Eating out is the killer for me.....
    You can do it.
  • first, congrats on being a stay at home dad! i would kill to stay home with my little one...

i am well versed in trying to lose weight with an injury, so let me just say:
    1. it's totally possible
    2. it gets easier with time
    3. it feels great!

just a few diet tweeks will definitely set you on the right path, and some low impact activities (and anyting in the water, if you have access to a pool) will do wonders.

good luck and keep us posted!
  • Thanks for the encouragement guys
