The other day i have my first cheat day in about a month, i ate around 2500 some of which included movie theater popcorn. Anyway the next day i was up 3 pounds, which i know is water weight, there's no way i gained 3 pounds. But now two mornings later im still up 3 pounds. how long does it usually take for that weight to come off. Yesterday i ate back to normal and drank a lot of water.

In my experience, it's back off in 3-4 days.0

Sounds like you are weighing yourself daily ? I use to do that and it was too stressful. Why not just focus on you eating plan and weigh yourself once a week. Your weight will fluctuate by pounds from morning til night.
I also weigh in the same time of the day , no shoes and the same clothes.0 -
I weigh myself most days but not everyday and only in the morning, with only under wear on. But im concerned about water weight right now since i have a weigh in coming up for a dietbet. Weighing myself everyday keeps me motivated and i will continue doing so.0

I weigh myself everyday just to have a clue with how my eating & exercise & sore muscles are going to impact the scale, it keeps me motivated to do better.
I don't know what your sodium is, but what works for me is to keep my sodium about 1500 mg/day. Also upping your potassium will help flush out your sodium in your body, eating clean non-processed foods. Drinking 1/2 or more your body weight in oz of water is essential also.
Life happens, just get back on track...0 -
I believe that how often we weigh ourselves is a very personal thing. Some people can do it every day, others not so often. As for the couple of pounds, they should come off in a few days. Remember, our weight can fluctuate by a few pounds depending on what we have eaten, ( I do this to if I am stressed and also when I used to have my period ) but as long as you continue to eat according to your plan, you should be ok0
