Is that necessary?
So I tend to do early morning workouts 99% of the time...
I usually get to the gym around 5:00-5:30 and work out for about an hour. No makeup. Roll out of bed, brush my teeth, throw my hair up and go.
I'm working out this morning on an arc training machine...almost empty row next to me. One other person a couple machines away. I start working out and plug into my netflix...a girl comes up next to me and gets on the machine right next to me. Full face of makeup, drenched in perfume...and proceeds to work on the arc trainer at MAX speed...the machine even told her so. She looks over at my machine repeatedly to see how I'm doing.
There was an entire row of machines...empty machines...why...was this necessary? Why do people do this?

She was totally flirting with you. She may have noticed you b4. Maybe she is lonely and wants a gym pal, but was too flustered to say Hello.
But that doesn't explain the perfume and makeup, maybe she never went to bed, maybe she is a stripper. Yea she likes attention.
I don't know, those are possiblities0 -
As*holes make the world go round!
There are jerks everywhere and the gym is no exception.0 -
 She's dumb.0

She needs a guy to explain, what I call, the urinal code to her. I think that it applies to gym equipment, self checkout lines, and movie theaters. Stick to the code!0

I don't know. Why waste makeup and perfume just to sweat it right off (not to confuse this with a different workout.). Perhaps she likes that particular machine ~ that is always how I think of it. There are two machines that I just love at my gym and I'm heartbroken when they're not available at my workout. I will definitely workout next to you even if the gym is wide open IF the machine next to you is one of my favorites! Don't worry, I'm too intent on my own machine to be checking you and your progress!0

The perfume and makeup could be explained by her working hours. Maybe she's just getting off of work at that time. If not, she's just plain weird and is wanting to showoff.
As for that particular machine, I agree with Celtbelle. I have to stick to the ellipticals because of my bad knees and there's only one machine at my gym that doesn't "click" with every step I take. It doesn't do it for anyone else so it must be the resistance setting + speed I go mixed together. The gym could be completely empty except one other person and if my machine is open and next to their's, I'm taking it!0 -
OK, she did it AGAIN this morning.
I was minding my own business, wrapping up the arc trainer after my weight training...and she gets on the arc trainer RIGHT NEXT TO ME...there were FIVE others open...the closest people were at the opposite end of the row. Why? Then THEN, she blatantly stares at the screen on MY machine to see how I was doing. She saw I was looking and she looked away. When I got off the machine she stared at it again.
It's annoying. I was about to say something but decided I'd just leave to go get ready...people are annoying.0
