What to do next? - Strength Questions

So I started loosing weight a while ago and I began with TurboJam and a 1,200 calorie diet. After about 9 months I graduated from TurboJam to TurboFire (what can I say, I love Charlene!) and I stalled out at about a 30lbs loss. I gained a few pounds back over the last couple months but I have been starting exercising religiously and and will get back on the calorie counting bandwagon. I have recently started the C25K program as well so I can enter a twilight run at the end of August. However I think I've seen the end of my results with cardio alone and would like to move into strength training. I feel like a fit person in a fat girl's body, help!

My question is, I don't have a car and there are no gyms nearby can anyone recommend a strength training program I can do at home with a video or something? Also, if anyone has had similar experience, what did you do to get out of the slump? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

If you like Chalene, check out ChaLEAN Extreme - it is a beachbody program by her that focuses on lifting, building muscle. It is great.

Is a home gym an option? I built mine for under $500 buying used, but you have to have room for it and some extra money to spend. There is nothing that beats barbell training.

If that's not an option, I do like P90X and there are people on here who had great results with it. I was doing P90X before I built my home gym, my problem with that is that with two young kids making the time every day to do P90X just wasn't happening.

There is a lot you can do with a barbell and dumbbells at home. Most compound lifts can be done with these two things. Get on a starting strength program that emphasizes heavy compound lifts.

My friend is working through New Rules of Lifting for Women at home. She bought some dumbbells, a barbell set, a Swiss ball and an aerobic step and can do the workouts in the comfort of her home. Whatever you choose, heavy compound lifting is the way to go ("heavy" is relative to the person)
