Best heart rate monitor brand???

looking to buy one but have no idea which one would be best and wouldn't empty my wallet, any suggestions? thanks

I have used both Polar and Zephyr. I prefer the Zephyr thanks to the rechargeable battery. It is bluetooth and connects to my phone so I have everything in one place.

Did you want to be able to track distances etc while you're hiking? If yes a Garmin Forerunner may be what you're looking for (they have a variety of models and quite a range in prices)

If you're more interested elapsed time, average heart rate and calories burned something along the lines of a Polar FT7 would be suitable 9and quite affordable)

Both Polar and Garmin have excellent reputations for reliability and accuracy.

I have a Polar FT4 and LOVE it. Just plug in your height, weight, age and gender and you are good to go.

Just in case you weren't aware of this feature, when you go to the message boards section, there is a button called search and you can type in a keyword (ex: HRM or heart rate monitor) and you can see the threads that have already been created on the topic. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
