WHERE is the disconnect?

I've been at this since March. I've lost a total of 3 pounds, and I just don't get it. Trying not to get discouraged, but no matter what I do, or try, it doesn't seem to work. I try to net around 1200-1300 a day, to lose a pound a week, and it's just not budging. I have significantly cut back on carbs, because I know I eat too many, but still nothing has happened. I'm not looking for a quick fix, I know this is a long process that takes time, but this is crazy.
Any tips, any advice?

Try opening your diary so maybe we can offer some help.0

Open your diary.
The most likely explanation is that you're actually eating more than you think.0 -
Food scale. Do you have and use one of these religiously?0

My diary is now open. Feel free to look.
And no, I don't have a food scale, but will definitely consider getting one if that will help me.0 -

As an example, go to your kitchen, get a measuring spoon, and scoop out one level tablespoon of that jelly you used on the PBJ sandwhich. Now,compare that to how much you ACTUALLY used. Do the same for the Peanut Butter. A PBJ with only one REAL tablespoon of each would be a SH!TTY sandwhich! :^)
Same for the 100g of chicken and the 1 cup of rice. 1 cup of rice isn't very much... .you'd be surprised how easy it is to blow through 2 cups of rice.
It does look like you're logging fairly well... maybe just a portion control issue. (logging vs reality)
Hang in there, you'll get it.0 -
Food scale is the most effective piece of weight loss equipment in existence.0

Thanks so much for the advice. I'll be paying better attention to my portions. I don't think logging is my issue, I like seeing it all laid out in front of me. It seems to help me stop eating if I've been eating too much.
Tomorrow begins me paying closer attention to how much I'm really consuming.
And hey! That sandwich wasn't ****ty at all! Mostly because it was 1/2 a sandwich and not a whole.0 -
Also, looking at your diary I can't help but notice that fruit and veg is very very low as a percentage of your total calories.
We all have an off day occasionally, but the overall pattern of aiming for a balanced diet matters.0 -

Probably because it was way more than a tablespoon of PB and of J. A real, LEVEL measuring tablespoon of PB is not even enough for a half sandwich.... at least in my sandwich world! :^)
Like I said, you're doing a good job of logging the stuff, but my guess is that your portion estimations are off enough to be affecting your goals.0 -
I thought this video was an eye opener...I was using measuring cups & spoons for most items, a digital scale for only a few ...that has changed since watching this. I also did my own experiment to see how off my calculations were.

You can eat a whole lot more of fresh vegetables for way fewer calories than an equivalent amount of meat or carbs.0

I agree with teh scale! even guessing an apples weight can be massively different to actual weight! I weigh and measure everything!0

Thanks everyone! I will be getting a food scale, and paying much closer attention to my portion sizes. I'm sure they're off since I almost never measure my food, so hopefully that will significantly help!
Thanks so much.0 -
Get the scale and good luck! I bet it works wonders.0

i have the same issue....no weight loss in months! i don't have a food scale, but do measure my food. SO if is says 2 tablespoons, that what I l literally use. and yet not weight loss, and only a couple inches total, in all this time. I feel you pain!0
