People who do that set custom calorie goals based on their TDEE (Total Day Energy Expenditure), and don't follow MFP's net calorie system. Calculating your TDEE factor's in exercise so you don't want MFP adding your exercise calories into your daily caloric goal0

^^^This.
It helps you eat more evenly through the week and not just eating back calories burned on workout days. Factors your TDEE based on your average workouts/activity then subtracts for a deficit over a week rather than a day.0 -
i do it cause of the attention i get when it appears on my friends newsfeeds. i love seeing "Killed it!" "like a boss" "#beastmode" comments, but i dont want MFP adjusting my settings by 400 calories.0

It might also be because that's as hard as they work in the gym. I see people in the gym all the time who walk around and don't seem to do a damn thing while there except talk to friends, do one bench press, put it down, impressed with themselves, spend 5 minutes getting a drink of water and then talk to friends for another 15 minutes. Repeat 3 times and they are done for the day.
That happens far too often in a gym. Unfortunately, those types are probably not honest enough to admit they do that either.0 -
I eat according to TDEE therefore I don't eat back my calories burned.0

I use the TDEE method, therefore I don't eat back exercise calories...they're built into my goal. If you're dong MFP, that is the NEAT method and you're supposed to log exercise and eat back most of those calories with the NEAT method.0

I also use the TDEE method.I Eat my TDEE minus 20%. I don't eat back exercise calories.I log 1 calorie for exercise, I don't log the actual number because it messes up my MICROS.0
