Hi everyone!

So for a while now I've had a bit of a problem with bloating. I know for a lot of people bloating is due to gluten or dairy allergies so I decided to cut gluten out of my diet (apart from oxaisonally a slice of rye bread with lunch but that's usually once a week if that). I replaced milk with almond but but I absolutely adore natural yogurt and cottage cheese. The bloating is still there and if anything worse jan ever so I think I have to accept the lame fact that i do have a bit of a dairy allergy. I know I can get soy yogurt but can anyone think of a good replacement for cottage cheese? I absolutely love it and have it basically every day with my salad at lunch!! I used to eat a lot of condiments which definitely affected my "healthy eating" so since getting serious about eating well I have cut them all out so find cottage cheese is the only healthy topping/dressing I can have with salads. Any suggestions??

one of the problems with cottage cheese (which i love) is that it is also very high in sodium/salty, which causes bloating from fluid retention (and is different from the bloating of your digestive tract). i don't really know of a good replacement that would be like cottage cheese, but maybe check out a low-sodium variety?

a fresh corn or bean salsa or pico de gallo? a lot of grocers sell tubs of fresh pico in their produce section.

tuna salad made with onion, celery and a bit of olive oil mayo - i like that as a salad topper, too. good dose of protien, although it's really only good to have two servings of tuna per week due to mercury content.

    black beans, kidney beans, etc.

    grain salads

    hard boiled eggs

Oh I didn't know that about the salt content!! That could explain it. I also love it with honey and fruit. But alas! Think I will do a 2 week no dairy experiment and see if there is any change. If not ill go to the docs for a proper allergy consultation. Thanks for the advice :)
