1200 cals per day per MFP
I am 5.7
44years old
I seem to be leaveing 200 to 300 cals per day..
I drink BODY BY VI SHAKES EVERY DAY 1 in am 1 for diner...... Small salad with tuna and spinich with 1 serving of flatbread crackers is my go to meal... I also eat air popped popcorn dry no butter or salt.. I drink over 1 gallon of water everyday... I have lost 21 pounds and only have 9 pounds to reach goal....0 -
Try having something of substance for dinner...like...NOT a shake. You'll bump up your calories, won't be so tired, and have energy the next day. Same for lunch. Eat some hummus with your crackers, maybe. Eat a PB&J as a mid-morning snack, make it the night before and bring it.
If you're unable/unwilling to eat more substance during the day, have a handful of nuts or a couple tablespoons of PB at the end of the day. You'll get the healthy fats you're missing and the calories you're missing.
What's your activity level? If you're also exercising, you should be eating more than 1200 unless you have a medical condition inhibiting you from eating more.
That in mind, congrats on your loss so far.0 -
How much do you exercise and what is your exercise routine? It sounds more like you are plateauing which isnt to uncommon - nor the end of the world.
Also what is your current weight or bmi?0 -
my weight is 167.60

How long have you been eating @ sub 1000 calories.
If it was for only a couple of weeks, it's not a big deal.0 -
You're not in starvation mode. Just eat normally. Don't worry. If you're more than 10% body fat it's almost impossible to be in starvation mode.0

only a few weeks...... so you think I am plateauing???? How do I break thru it????? I am so willing to try anything.. I have not lost a single once in 2 weeks.. I am not working out right now as the dr does not want me to yet... I had a stroke.....I think that is why I am tired all the time... he said it takes time to regain energy.... But I dont want my weight loss to stop.. I am almost at goal. Dr is very please with my progress on the weight loss.. He is the one that wanted me to drink the shakes...0

 Please tell me you don't work in a field where you have to advise people. This is similar to saying candles and penguins are of the same species :noway:
OP: I suggest you schedule an appointment with a registered dietitian or another medical professional with similar education in nutrition. Discuss with them your goals and develop a plan that will result in safe & healthy weight loss. :flowerforyou:0 -

Anyway, maximum calorie deficit from fat is 31.4 x pounds of body fat. Let's round OP's weight to 170 and estimate body fat at 30%. That's roughly 50lbs of total body fat. 50 x 31.4 = 1,570. Unless OP is running a >1,570 calorie deficit she's fine.0 -

Generally speaking, as far as diet is concern:
A fit bodybuilder has a better grasp on how to lose weight. I would trust their advice over most nutritionist and doctors. Don't get me wrong, there a some very good nutritionist out there but, there are so many nutritionist that relies on their 4 year degree they got 10 to 15 years ago without keeping up with current research. Soooooo, many myths about losing weight have been debunked over the last few years that they need unlearn what they were taught and learn what really are the keys to losing weight.0 -

Loosing weight post traumatic health incident is a miracle in and of it's self. Don't be so hard on yourself. A lot of people gain weight during these periods. When is your doctor starting physical therapy? Ask also about your blood iron levels and b vit. levels if you are feeling tired. This can cause a great deal of fatigue. Focus on just keeping weight off for a bit and once your cleared for exercise; hit it.0 -

Completely unnecessary. OP - You're fine. Just try to eat a little bit more and you'll be fine. Put some nuts in your handbag before you leave the house if you're too busy.0 -

beautifully said. Don't be so hard on yourself. and, perhaps try drinking a little less water. You might be filling yourself up so much with water that you don't feel like taking in enough food. water's terrific, but this might be a bit much for you right now.
But mainly, try to relax and let yourself heal. You're very close to goal; things are going to slow down now that you're leaner. It will come off if you keep up with your calorie deficit.0
