Anyone have any favorites?
Idk if anyone has used this topic .. it isn't meant to be mean spirited either..

I liked Shallow Hal but Pixlar made one about
a robot that I thought was good.

    I liked Shallow Hal (at least the moral of it). Jason Alexander's character was annoying though.

    Also, What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

    It's not a whole movie based on it, but I thought Jack Black's spoof trailers for "The Fatties", cameoed in "Tropic Thunder" were hilarious. :)

    someday. . .MAYBE someday, there'll be a movie with a fat central character that doesn't revolve around the fact that they're fat. Until then, I'll keep looking.

    My Mad Fat Diaries is decent though (not a movie, a miniseries, you can youtube it!)

    Melissa McCarthy is doing really good as far as being over weight/obese and starting in lead/main rolls.

    I know it's only TV but when I was younger, Dawn French has been a bit of a trailblazer. In her comedy work, the joke wasn't about her being fat. In Murder Most Horrid, she played a variety of characters, all of whom (if I remember correctly) just happened to be overweight. I think some of those are on youtube.

    I believe if someone wrote the right script Melissa Mckarthy would
    be a better success. She needs the right role is all. I love her on TV.
