protein popsicles

I haven't done this but tagging because it's a great idea.
I will definitely experiment, perhaps using an ice cube tray until I've reached a winner. I would start by making a protein shake with a higher whey to milk ratio than I normally use.0 -
Never tried though I intend to one day!
I'm not sure whether sorbet popsicles would work though
Here's an interesting site, you might discover something useful! http://www.wheyhey.co.uk/index.php?lang=en0 -
I tried it once with a prepackaged protein shake. They were AWFUL! I'm not a cook though, so I just never tried it again, rather than messing around with it. I'm interested to see what others have to say.0

I bought these and they were really really good: http://www.eatenlightened.com but kind of expensive. That is what got me thinking I could make my own, control what goes in them and save some money.
I'll experiment and let you know how it goes...0 -
I find that protein mix tastes a lot better in almond/coconut milk than regular milk.0

At first I thought you were going to say something nasty...
Sometimes I have mixed my almond milk with protein powder, shaked up the plastic bottle... put that in the freezer... Walllah! Delish milkshake..0 -
Interesting. It may work with greek yogurt blended with fruit, protein powder and a little almond milk... i may try this..0

I tried it this weekend. This is what I did:
half scoop of Body Fortress Whey Protein Cookies N' Cream (19 grams)
scoop of Garden of Life Raw Protein (Vanilla) (23 grams)
1 cup 2% milk
half cup of Fage 2% yogurt
dash a salt (not sure why)
Blended in blender, then I crumbled in 2 oreo cookies and blended a little more. Poured into the pop molds, it made 5 pops. Each popsicle was 92 calories, with 10 grams of protein, 2 grams of fat, and 8 carbs
The taste is ok. A little gritty. Not the smooth fudgesicle I was hoping for, but with those macros... I'm ok with that.
I'm going to try a fruit flavor next time0 -
Google "Unjury". They have a great recipe for protein frozen treats0

I'd suggest using BCAAs if you want to make traditional water based 'popsicles'.
You could try using whey in a frozen yoghurt style but I'm not sure how well they'd turn out.0 -

It's certainly not about what I thought it was about0
