I need some shake recipes! My jock Uncle just gave me a huge thing of Six Star Muscle Professional Whey Protein, and I have no idea where to start.

Recipes would be greatly appreciated :flowerforyou:

Be careful with the protiens out there. Make sure it is not for gaining weight. Check calorie count sugars and ingredents
  • A basic, but tasty one is a scoop of protein powder, a cup of lowfat milk, and a whole banana. Put it all in a blender. Works for me. You probably want to look at the instructions on the can to adjust and see if you need more or less milk per scoop. Hope this helps.

I have this one almost every morning for breakfast.

    Anti-inflammatory Smoothie

1 scoop vanilla whey protein isolate
    ½ cup raspberries
    ½ cup strawberries
    ¼ cup pineapple
    ½ banana
1 tbsp ground flaxseeds (preferably golden flaxseeds)
    1 tbsp salba
    ½ cup water

  • As ProTFitness said make sure it isn't a mass gainer with an insane amount of carbs, but other than that, I like to make mine into a proper nice meal replacement, stick a serving of the protein in a blender, add blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, oats if you aren't too worried about carb intake, and maybe even a banana, then between 300-500ml of water depending on how thick you like it. put some ice in too to make it cold, and it'll be absolutely delicious :D

Here's another one of my favourites.

    Dose of Dopamine Smoothie

    1 scoop whey protein isolate
    1 tabsp almond butter
    1 small banana
    2 tspn flaxseed oil
    1 tspn cocoa powder
½ cup unsweetened organic soy milk

I always put a teaspoon of cinammin in my smoothies as follows because it offers wonderful insulin-balancing
    effects.

"A study published in the journal Diabetes Care (December 2003) showed that
cinnamon may cause muscle and liver cells to respond more readily to insulin. Better
response to insulin means better blood sugar balance and, therefore, less insulin in your
body. Cinnamon also seems to reduce several risk factors for cardiovascular disease,
including high blood sugar, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol. Just a ½
teaspoon a day for 30 days is enough to significantly improve your insulin response and
trim your waistline." Dr. Natasha Turner - from The Hormone Diet

Ice, skim milk, fruit, protein powder, greek yogurt, fresh baby spinach (I promise you can't taste it). If you have a chocolate flavored protein powdered, just remove the fruit from the recipe and maybe add PB or Dark Chocolate Dreams PB.

    Here's my favorite:

    1 cup 1% milk
    1 cup ice
2 scoops vanilla protein (I use Optimum Nutrition)
    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
    1/2 banana
    2 tbsp natural peanut butter
    2 tbsp milled flaxseed

Put ingredients in blender and mix until smoother. Pour in a big glass (makes about 25 oz) and enjoy.

    A couple of my personal favorites are;

    Banana
    Strawberries
    Blueberries
    milk/yogurt
    With chocolate protein

    Orange
    pineapple
    milk/yogurt
    With vanilla protein

Use frozen berries (or the pineapple) for a colder/thicker/more shake-like smoothie.

I checked them out! I would be using it as a meal replacement when I'm on the go, not for a snack!

The facts on Six Star Muscle are:

    1 Serving- 1 Heaping Scoop

    Calories- 150
    Total Fat- 1.5g
    Carbohydrates- 9g
    Sugars- 3g
    Protein- 26g
    Sodium- 70mg

    Seems pretty reasonable!
