More Sore Second Day Than First?

I did an intense workout class on Friday and then on Saturday of course, my legs were sore. Now this is is Sunday and I woke up with my arms being really sore too, along with my legs but my arms weren't sore AT ALL yesterday! (I didn't do any exercise yesterday, took it as a rest day) Why is this? lol

Because of the rest day. Move around, and the soreness will ease up.0

Yup, it's not unusual to feel in more the 2nd day.0 -
Whenever I get sore these days by incorporating something new, I automatically assume that the second day is going to be worse because it happens that way with me every single time. You are not alone in that.0

I had to quote this just to say F1TCH1K, your back is AMAZING!0 -
Welcome to the wonderful world of DOMS. Perfectly normal and nothing to be worried about.
According to Wikipedia:It is caused by eccentric (lengthening) exercise, which causes microtrauma to the muscle fibers. After such exercise, the muscle adapts rapidly to prevent muscle damage, and thereby soreness, if the exercise is repeated.0 -
Yep me too. Just started doing strength training again and after a good chest workout on the Wednesday I woke up Thursday feeling sore but not too bad. Excellent I thought but then Friday morning I woke up and it felt like I'd been trampled on by 100 elephants during the night!!0

One more question... should I continue working out (lifting etc.) while the soreness is still there or should I rest until it goes away??0
