Hopefully I can explain this right...but all of a sudden I am seeing certain words underlined in blue that I can click on. Like if someone uses the word "weight" I could click on it and it would take me to a different site. I use crome and have never seen that on here before or is this happening to everyone on MFP now? I dont like it and want it off if possible....thx

Sounds like some words are being turned into hyperlinks (the things you can click on).

Perhaps the browser you use (Internet Explorer/Firefox/Chrome/etc) has an add-on or plug on that recognises certain words and changes them into links.

Just a guess as I had a chat program that used to change words to links to Wikipedia pages.

Sounds to me like you have malware. Download and run Malwarebytes, make sure you have your browser closed and nothing else other than Malwarebytes open so it can clean the system.

If you get stuck message me. :) x

Is it all websites or just some websites? Some websites will do this as a "feature" or as advertising for them. If it's on ALL websites, then you have some sort of plugin (legit or not legit) that has done this for advertising functions as well. I'd check your browser plugins and/or your uninstall area (Programs and Features in Windows 7/8). Otherwise, you need to run a malware scan . MalwareBytes is a good one.

I highly recommend the below software. It's free and will help get rid of your malware (or adware is what you have).

    www.malwarebytes.org

You can install the above and only install one or the other of the below. Do not install both (won't allow you at least it used to prevent you from having both). Which one you want is honestly personal preference but if you have nothing I highly recommend at least one of them.

    OR

More than likely you haven't been compromised (unless you are experiencing other issues) but you definitely have malware/adware on your machine. If you have any further questions feel free to PM me and I'll explain/assist in further detail.

I've had that before as well, adblock took care of that for me (plus no more ads too)
