Hi all,

I'm here over 2 weeks and I just have a quick question.... I usually drink water fron a pint glass at home, I usually log this as 4 "cups" , I'm usually averaging 14 "cups" a day so just want to check I'm drinking as much as I should!!!

Thanks in advance for your help!!

1 cup is 8 fluid ounces, so a pint which is 16oz would be 2 cups of water

Ok, if that's the case I'm not drinking nearly enough!! Well it's not including coffee or the water in food like the stew/soup I had today.

Guess I'll have to keep drinking!!!

To get my water in I buy a bottle of water that is 16.9 fl oz - thats just over two "cups" of water - I drink 4-6 of those a day at work and it helps me get in my 8 "cups" a day.

Anyone know if you can drink too much water?

It is possible to drink too much water, but not probable. The last paragraph of this article from the Mayo Clinic explains: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/water/NU00283/NSECTIONGROUP=2
  • Yes, it's called hyponatremia but its rare in the average adult. Most common in infants & athletes, so you don't have much to worry about.
