Hi
Can anyone give me advice as to how I can get exercising.I am partially disabled,ie walking, swimming I cannot do,is anyone out there able to advise me with any sitting in the chair exercises, unfortunately I cannot even manage to get on an exercise bike,I manage ok with my diet but think some sort of exercise regime would help shift the weight quicker. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Check with you doc first about what is safe for you and see if you can get a pt referral. Have you looked at a hand bike or some free weights for your arms? What about band exercises? I bet you could do some modified tai chi or yoga using your upper body. Are you wheelchair bound? If you have some ability to stand or walk maybe a slow march or even repeatedly siting and standing then raising your arms up at the sit. Google videos exercise for the disabled and you can find some. Modify them to your physical capabilities you should feel worn out or tired afterwards but it shouldn't cause you pain. Stop at the first sign of pain and try something else.0

H!!
I would recommend trying out resistance bands. There are quite a few things that you can do with them without having to stand.
Resistance training is important when losing weight and is important for bone density.
There are also these machines, that you just use your arms for, or even legs, but you can do in a chair. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/MedMobile-Digital-Mobility-Pedal-Exerciser/dp/B000SZO6WU/ref=pd_sim_misc_4 (there are lots of different ones)
Here are also some sites with suggestions:

I would recommend a walk in early morning and in the evening too.0 -

I have a neighbor who has MS (and is wheelchair bound) and swears by her resistance bands and her dumbbells. She also incorporates chair aerobics with her strength training. There are many free videos on youtube like this one:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAeZZbpi8Ow. She has also found DVDs for chair zumba and chair yoga which she loves.
If you are working with a physical therapist for your disability, ask he or she for exercise options that are tailored specifically for you (I am sure they have great resources).
Best wishes!0
