New to MFP

Hey everyone, I'm TC (wife, mom and grandma).

Back in 2008, I woke up one morning ready to get back in shape! That is the kind of person I am; I cannot set a date to start being healthy or to quit smoking, I have to feel it in my gut. Anyways, I decided to eat healthier but not deprive myself of the foods I love, so in came smaller portion. I cut out the sweet tea, drank more water and exercised more. By doing that, I went from 198 to about 163 (in 2010) and I was till loosing.::happy: Then a monkey wrench was thrown into the works. I gained about 15 pounds :cry: I figure ok, that happens but without realizing it I slowly slipped back into bad habits and here I am.

Although I had been thinking and complaining about how I had let myself go, that gut feeling didn't hit until 3 weeks ago today. I weighed 201 the day I signed in. I'm not doing as great as I did the first time around but I am not doing horrible either :wink: and my family is great about it!:happy:

Cuz you know . . . "If momma ain't happy . . . nobody's happy!!"

So, if you want to join in with my cheering section, I would love to have ya. Or if you want another person in your cheering section, I would love to be there for ya!!

    I have really stepped it up since i joined MFP and the scale hasnt gone down but i feel better... and a bit slimmer

    Congrats on feeling better and slimmer!!
    I did discover the first time around, at least with me, if I only got on the scale once a month, I actually felt better. What I did go by was how my clothes fit. It was so gratifying to have that extra 1/4 or inch in my clothing!!

    I am motivated BUT just like everyone else I have some bad days and moments. However, I remind my self, although it can be hard . . . it is so worth it not to give up!!!:happy:
