Do You Like To Share Your Food?

I love sharing food, but that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about, you go to a restaurant with a friend or significant other, or anyone, and they say, "You get this, and I'll get that and then we'll share".

First, no.
Second, F*&k no.

I'm a freaking animal. Keep you paws away from my food or I'll rip your head off.

Anyone else feel the same way? Or do you like to taste the other peoples food at the table?

I do that all the time. I'm really indecisive though, so it helps when the other person agrees! More than likely, i end up just eating all of my meal though.

Yes because a lot of times what my husband is getting is something that I was thinking of getting and vice versa.

Oh I'm so lucky I'm vegetarian. No one would want to share my food!

But to answer the question. No......No........No. You want what I have, you order that instead!

    I don't share.

I have a friend who only wants to share nasty food. As in, "Oh, god, this is awful! Here, you taste it!" WTF

For those that like to share, why don't you just order what you want? I don't understand this sharing crap.

I ordered what I want to eat. You order what you want to eat. Simple.

    I do.

I usually have at least four things that I want to order, two of which I'm seriously debating. My husband also usually narrows his choices down to two. Sometimes he'll say "I'm going to get X." And I will say "I was too! Since you're getting that I'll get Y instead" and we'll sample each others food.

I always order what I want but still usually end up sharing or sampling.

If I am eating something that is super good and whoever I am with hasn't tried it, I will ask them if they want to try it but as far as sharing an entire meal ... hell no. Unless it is with one of my kids they can have anything I can give them lol

I will give people some of my food, but I don't want any of theirs.

And to those who say just order what you want...
If everything looks good on a menu, sometimes I can't pick. I just tell the waiter that I can't decide and the chef should make me whatever he wants. The dinners I have gotten that way have been spectacular.

Restaurants are the only place where I DO like to share my food. It takes a 2000 calorie entree down to something I can fit in my day. It can also be Lady and the Tramp-ish if you do it right. , is more affordable, and opens up a slight possibility for dessert. Wins all around!

    Absolutely - always.

OH generally does well, his meal isn't big enough and he gets my spuds, maybe some left over meat. I eat his left over veg. He orders desert, and I steal two spoons of it.

We share a beer at home - he goes back for a second/third/etc... but I can't finish one on my own.

He's the smaller of the two of us...grr.

I love going out for tapas and getting to taste lots of different dishes.

It depends. MOSTLY no, except say in a typical Chinese restaurant where eating family style is really expected, or it's the kind of place where you can't really get a balanced meal from one dish, you have to mix and match from several (e.g. dim sum and tapas places).

The problem isn't necessarily that I don't want to share my food, it's that I don't want to eat your food. Other people make weird decisions.

    1. YUCK YOU LIKE YUCKY THINGS NO WAY!
    2. Wow, you like boring things. Good luck choking that down, Felix.
    3. There's something on your plate I know that doesn't agree with my tummy or my diet plan.

    and, the worst,

    4. In a fit of virtue, you ordered something with no fat, no carbs and no flavor and don't object when I say I want to order something with, for instance, cheese and bread. Unless we openly collaborated on this as a strategy for us both to get a small portion of something delicious while limiting the health damage, this is a freaking TRAP. You fully intend to eat half of my sinful, sinful meal (making weirdly sexual happy noises whenever you get a bite of cheese, you big freak) but you're mentally scoring points off me because you ordered the healthier dish, like my cheese and pasta has zero calories when you eat it off my plate.

Seriously, if one person orders something conspicuously healthy in a restaurant, they should not be talking about sharing with others without first OPENLY saying something about "Hey, let's balance our meal out with this plate of veggies, what do you think?" I do that myself a lot in dim sum places "Yum, these dumplings are all AWESOME but do you guys mind if I ask if they offer a plate of Chinese broccoli or green beans or something, hahaha!"

It doesn't happen often...but occasionally we'll be out and my wife will ask me if I want to just split something...Father's day breakfast out she asked me if I wanted to split the South West Bennie (one of my favorite dishes at one of my favorite breakfast joints)....
