Needing a change

Life is crazed! I've recently within the last 3 months quit smoking. I've never been thin, though I've never been as big as I suddenly see myself now. It's depressing! ! I did something good for myself and made myself fat! I've been using the mobile app for myfitnesspal. LOVE IT!.. It's helped to keep my snacking down to reasonable calorie intake. I want to lose 60lbs.. Though I'm a horribly lazy person when it comes down to it. I'm learning to not be so bad. I've started slow, getting food intake right, NEXT is exercise. Some encouragement would be nice, I've been told I need that nudge at times. I know it.

Hopefully I can keep at it! It would be nice to fit back into my wedding dress!.

luck to all!

-B.

Remember we are all in this together. Today was a day I was sedentary at a meeting then lunch with great friends. I give myself an A- as I walked four blocks to and from the restaurant. Everyday can't be firecrackers. I challenge you to exercise with me tomorrow and on the weekend. Though my years are greater than you, I have been fighting food addiction for more years than I care to remember. MFP helps me look at the numbers that will make a difference in my success. Good luck! Break your exercise down into chunks, if need be. I read where a gal mowed the lawn and burned 143 calories. It is cool in the mountains so I might tackle some yard work though I prefer long walks in the woods. There is so much to life out the front door! Good luck!

    Welcome!
Congrats on quitting smoking--that's super awesome! You should be super proud:smile:
If you are strong enough to do that, you are strong enough to lose weight. Good job on getting your food intake right.
Start slowly with the exercise, every bit counts. Just find an activity you enjoy and do little bits of it as often as possible. I take walks 10-30 minutes a few times a day when I work-it's easy, and I'm losing weight! I also like to do yoga and ride my exercise bike while I watch tv. Best of luck to you-you can do it!

  • I do enjoy yoga and we've recently been given a wii fit. I know it's just a game, but I was surprised when it actually made me work up a decent amount of sweat during yoga and strength training. Sadly, due to my own fault it's collecting dust. I shall implement exercise, slowly. A day at a time. Ya'll are right. I know I can do this, I just like to have someone standing there saying, "come on.. The couch isn't that comfortable right?"

Thanks for the encouragement! I feel this site is going to be productive for me!
