hi everyone,
it's been a while since my last post. i wanted to know i usually do about 45 min of high impact aerobics, after which i'm drenched with sweat. today because i'm not feeling well i burned the same amount of calories doing a less strenuous workout on the treadmill. did i get the same benefit or not?

Farrah, you still completed a work out which is very important in losing and maintaining the loss. The difference is this: The high impact aerobics obviously will burn more calories than a 'less strenuous' work out on a treadmill. You still have the benefit of getting your heart rate moving, you just didn't burn as many calories as you would have, etc.
I believe it's harder to get a vigorous work-out on the treadmill as their is no resistance. There is an incline, however, I personally don't get the same workout. I like to stick with the elliptical machines... I've learned to adjust the resistance and I actually burn a lot more calories as opposed to keeping the resistance at a low level.
That said, you have to listen to your body and don't over due it! If your not feeling well, yeah, hit the treadmill.. (or elliptical) machine.. something easy.. at least you're going!
The best of luck!!0
