When I finish I don't feel this energy everyone talks about. I am shaking all over and feel sick and have zero energy the rest of the day. This is what always makes me quit everytime I start an exercise routine. Will this ever go away? Will it get easier?

Could it be that you are doing too much too fast? Are you fueling your body before and after? If you are just starting, are you giving yourself proper time to warm-up/cool down?

The very first time i did the 30 DS workout I laid on the floor for 15-20 minutes dizzy and needing to puke. The 2nd day was a little better, and by the 3rd day i didn't have that awful feeling. Now I am doing it for my 3rd time and also doing other routines that are even more difficult. It does get better.

    What are you doing?

If you haven't been active for a while it's best to ease yourself back in gently, and gradually build up. Your workouts should always leave you wanting more - forget the notion of no pain, no gain.

It does get easier! (and more fun)

You could be overdoing it. Or you could be eating incorrectly. I'm hypoglycemic and if I don't eat properly before a workout I get shaky, sweaty and nauseous with a light headed feeling. Could this be what is happening to you?

I would look at your eating first, then get a heart rate monitor. You could be taxing your heart and lungs too much.

You have to pace yourself, if you are feeling that way after a workout means that you didnt eat enough calories to burn? or you gotta drink more water to make sure you dont get dehydrated. try doing cardio at 30 mins then amp it up

you may be doing too much/too fast. especially if you haven't worked out in a long time.

try to go slower. are you eating something before the workout? if not, then try to eat something about 30 mins before your work out. If you eating something before, then try to not eat.

And make sure you drink water, before during and after.

You need to find an exercise you like. Are you doing group classes or are you exercising alone?
When I started playing racquetball a long time ago, it lead me to aerobics and weight lifting so I
could be a better rball player.. Now no more rball but still doing the group classes.

Have a piece of fruit before hand and a glass of chocolate milk/almond milk afterwards. Stay hydrated during, but dont over hydrate.

Some say protein before hand but I find if I have a full stomach before hand I get sick. Fruit is just enough carbohydrate energy to fuel me.

Talk to your doctor also so they can check your heart rate and respiration.

I actually felt this way when I first got a personal trainer many months ago. Before, I never really pushed myself. My PT wasn't sympathetic..."no pain, no gain". It won't be easy. But you can't stop - otherwise you'll never get over the sickness you feel. Your body is going through a change, some people feel it physically as you are. Also, make sure to keep well hydrated before the workout. You can do it. Don't give up.

I also think that you may be working too hard - if you have your heart rate too close to your max HR for too long, you could be hurting yourself, rather than helping yourself. I would get a heart rate monitor to try to stay withing your target HR as much as possible. Also, make sure you have some energy to work off of when you go to work out. I always have a protein bar about 30 minutes before my workout, and on days when I lift, I drink a protein shake about 30 minutes after.

Also, keep hydrated - be sure you drink plenty of water before and after your workout.

Keep at it - it does get easier and it's so worth it in the end!

Sounds like you are having a blood pressure drop- the reason? Too much too soon. You need to dial it back a bit and work up slowly.
